Cats and what not

This past week marked a return to cat drawing for TheIllustrationBoard.com's Zoo Sketch group. While the day started out on a promising note, with a good turn-out, the female jaguar active and running about, and the lions walking at the front of their enclosure, things changed..Quickly. The lions soon retreated to the far back of the exhibit, with their backs to us. The jaguar did the same. We found the snow leopards awake and active, only to be driven away by the rain. One of our numbers (*cough*CHRISBRADLEY*cough*) retreated to the solitude of his car in order to sleep. While I was in the bathroom. Without telling me. I myself was not able to eat the traditional fantastic post-zoo lunch, as I had previous obligations of laundry that needed tending to.

Regardless of all of this, we did manage to get some great sketches out of the day. Check them out below, along with the handout I made for the day.

And don't worry all...There most certainly will be a Big Cat Drawing Day; Part III. And it will be the Best. One. Yet.

I did not feel well. I did get to stand about 15 feet from a roaring male lion though. Awesome.

I know you weren't...You looked like hell, to be entirely honest, and needed to get out of there. Still, it isn't often that I get to give someone a hard time outside of Chase, so I had to leap at this opportunity.

Scratch that last part.. I give near everyone a hard time, and am second only to Gist in that regard. I should say it isn't often I get to give you a hard time.

Understood. I apologize for leaving while you were powdering your nose. Its just that we were walking by the exit and it was time to go. Good handout by the way.

Awesome hand out and your right. Everyone's sketches turned out great regardless of how the day turned.
